Volunteer with The Hub @ Toothill

As we prepare to launch a wide range of community-led services — including a daytime café, family-friendly pub, inclusive events, creative workshops, learning opportunities, wellbeing support, and flexible spaces for local groups — we are looking for passionate volunteers to join us. All activities are co-designed with residents to ensure they meet real community needs.

Volunteers can support key areas such as café and bar operations, fundraising, social media content creation, and event delivery, helping us raise awareness, engage the community, and generate sustainable income to open our amazing space.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, including people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ communities, and anyone who may face barriers to volunteering. Your contribution — whether a few hours a week or ongoing support — will make a tangible difference in bringing this once-in-a-generation project to life.

For those ready to take on a leadership role, we are also seeking Board members with integrity and ambition to help oversee the Hub’s revitalisation, ensuring services are delivered successfully and surplus income is reinvested into the neighbourhood for generations to come.

Join us and be part of a thriving, sustainable community hub, built by local people, for local people.

*If you are interested in volunteering in our Cafe or Bar, please email us at contact@toothillhub.co.uk

The Hub @ Toothill's Fundraising Goal

The Hub @ Toothill is a community-led project to bring a much-loved local space back to life. Our vision is to reopen the former Toot and Whistle as a welcoming pub and community hub where people can connect, share experiences, and access activities and support shaped by local residents.

To make this vision a reality, we need to raise an additional £30,000 to complete the final preparations and open our doors in early summer.

This project has been driven by volunteers and local people who believe that community spaces matter. Every contribution — large or small — helps move us closer to reopening.

What the funding will support

Our overall £40,000 reopening fund will cover:

  • Two months of essential running costs (staffing, utilities, stock purchase, and safety compliance) — £30,000

  • Final construction works required to meet full safety standards — £9,000 total, with £7,500 already secured

So far we have raised: £7,750 🎉

Donate to Support the Hub to Open

If you would like to help bring The Hub @ Toothill back to life, you can donate through our fundraising page:

Every donation makes a difference. Whether it’s £5, £25 or £50, each contribution helps us restore the space, prepare the venue, and create a place where the community can gather again.

If 600 people donated £50, we would reach our goal.

*For donations of £1,000 or more, please contact us directly to arrange a bank transfer.
