About The Hub @ Toothill

The Hub @ Toothill is a welcoming community hub with a family-friendly pub at its heart. We are creating a safe, inclusive, and vibrant space for local people to connect, relax, attend events, and access community support.

As we prepare to open and grow, we are looking for practical, community-minded volunteers to support our Hub Manager with general handyman and maintenance tasks to help keep the venue safe, welcoming, and operational.

The Role

This is a flexible volunteer role suited to someone who enjoys practical tasks, DIY, maintenance, and helping community projects thrive. You will support with small repairs, installations, set-up tasks, and general improvements across the café, bar, and events spaces.

Example Tasks May Include

• Installing shelving and storage solutions

• Supporting safe storage set-ups and stock organisation

• Cutting down pallets and creating raised storage areas

• Basic DIY and maintenance jobs

• Moving furniture or equipment

• Assisting with room set-up for community events

• Helping prepare café, bar, and event spaces for opening

• Identifying and reporting health and safety concerns

• Supporting community action or maintenance days

• Is practical and reliable

• Has basic DIY or handyman skills

• Can work safely and independently

• Is friendly and community-minded

• Enjoys being part of a team

• Wants to make a positive difference locally

No formal qualifications are required, but experience with DIY, maintenance, construction, caretaking, or facilities work would be helpful.
